Sell - why sell now? It is down 58% from its 52 week high. Google has fallen almost 32% in 2008 and the S&P has only dipped about 5.4%. So I cannot see a reason why one should buy. Furthermore, the company has not gone through a recession while being publicly traded--who knows how it will perform during economic hardtimes. If I owned the stock, I would hold. I would not sell, nor would I buy. I think there are better values out there right now. Some of them would be CHL, TT, MMC and BX.

For those that listen to/believe Bob Brinker (that would be me), he says the market has hit bottom and will go up from here... how quickly is the question. If you're going to buy, now would be the time if you've got a little time to hold it...

Bob predicted the dot-com burst early enough for me to get out and not lose half my retirement nest egg like some of my co-workers did earlier this decade... I like the guy.

i don't own any one stock, but have several funds that deal with many stocks, domestic and international.
i generally don't trust dot com stocks at all. many seem to go thru the roof, and then steadily drop, never reaching what is imo their former artificial highs again.
is google one of those? i don't know. but i'd say historically speaking, you may have held too long.

Sell... if you really like it, rebuy when market finds bottom. If Mister Softy (MSFT) and Yahoo (YHOO) actually combine, GOOG will have less value as it will have formidable, well-capitalized competitor.

I think it has hit about as close to the bottom as it's going to get...

I'd say it depends on your time frame...if you are willing to hold it for awhile, I'd say buy it.
