Default Calder, 12-22

Early pick 4

Race 1: #4 Orients Tune; the obvious sheet stand-out, nice spacing off the buried 9 debut, adds Lasix today. Do I trust Fuentes/Duquesnay against Mott and Tagg, etc.. not really, but with all the big names in here, this one should be ML or higher. Dangerous single, but deserving, IMO.

Race 2: #7 Laser may run away and hide, must use, but can't single (anybody got 25K I can borrow to put in a claim? Probably a better purchase than bet)... #3 Timeless Sands, #5 Chazmule (1st Walder) and #6 River of Dreams (although I don't necessarily trust the Meadowlands #'s) can be used. #8 Humming Along may be interesting long shot, worked down to a 6 sprinting at Colonial.. last 2 here at Calder in the slop, now back to turf (distance may be an issue?).. kinda taking a stand against #9 Euro Tiger, who's figs are solid, but this one doesn't usually leave the rail, may be wide today from the 9 post.

Race 3: Hoping the firster's aren't much, using #6 Nor'Easter .

Race 4: This one's a bit of a guess, using as many as possible; #2 Trust or Bust, #6 Hidden Street, #7 Run for Silver, #8 Final Call

4 with 3,5,6,7,8 with 6 with 2,6,7,8
after scratches, $20 for a buck

Race 5: Wide open $10 claimer, #5 Playful Pal might be worth a bet at a bit of a price.

Race 6: #1 Cherry Red, ships in from Laurel, should save some ground from the rail. #8 Poet's Dream has the best back fig, but it's somewhat isolated, dangerous. #10 Chesty, also ships in from Laurel, picks up Prado, should run well.

Race 8: Have to respect Pletcher's #7 Polo Argentina, toss debut when breaking through the gate. #6 Yes He's the Best, ran nice fig on dirt in last, switches back to turf. Firster's #5 Freedom's Flight and #8 Sir Mott are dangerous.

Race 9: Narrowed it down to three; slight edge to #4 American Asset, a bit inconsistent, but may be improving. #2 Cape Cod Lady is solid, and #3 Malika has to be respected for Jerkens, despite coming back a bit quickly off maiden score.

Race 10: #9 BB Livermore comes in with just 1 turf try (sprint) and 110 days off, but is just faster than these. #10 David K ships in from Kentucky, has solid turf figs. #5 Barbara's Brisco N Logan makes 2nd start off the layoff, could improve.

Race 11: #1 Packer earned top fig in race in his last, highweight could "Bounce"? #4 Punto Fijo stretches out for 3rd US start, 1st 2 were solid sprints. #2 James Wilfred ran OK 1st off layoff, should be tighhter today.

Race 12: Wide open finale, #5 Imarealguy is the fastest, but wheels back in 5 days... #4 Dixie Find and #7 Gem of a Mom's Son are the next best (but not by much).

Good luck to all!!

Default Race 6

Golfer...what do you think of #2 Real Fortunate? Was up at 2 am reading the form and could not get away from this horse. Seems the time last race was very, very, very fast. With a freshening and blinkers off I look for a big one from this filly.

I really hope Seth has a pick three going to this Nor'easter Kate. Solid reasoning in the first two.

Thanks, fella's. Didn't play any early pick 3's. Just the pick 4, which I had twice... you know what they say about the blind squirrel.
I had a couple things going for me today: some great advice earlier in the week, and my good luck DERBY TRAIL t-shirt that I just received in the mail yesterday.
