Default Nice pitcher's battle

The Angels sent their ace Lackey to the mound in the Bronx today to face The Rocket and the Yanks...both went 8 innings, 5 hits, Lackey struck out 11 Yanks while The Rocket faced only 3 over the minimum...extra innings now as I type. No matter what folks think of the Rocket, that's two outstanding performances in a row, three back he was outstanding for 5 innings in 97 degree heat before tiring...the old man is still a fierce battler!

Clemens was outstanding. Too bad for him the Yankees were shutdown by Lackey. The key is Clemens has been keeping his pitch counts down and lasting until the later innings.

You know all the "experts" are going to say "I told you so", but at least the Yanks keep trying!

Yeah, they're toast...I'm not a Yankee fan but I respect The Rocket...to pitch like he's done the last 3 outings at his age is well...amazing. If the Yanks gave him any support....

Lackey is not that good. You can get runs off him by simply having good at bats, and frustrating him by making him throw a lot.If you can't get more than a run off him, then you aren't doing your job at the plate.

Lackey has allowed 3 runs or fewer in 15 of 18 starts this year. I guess the whole American League isn't getting good at bats off of him, not just the Yankees.

I watched him get torched most of the 2nd half last year.I thought he was gunna have a good 2nd half(matter of fact that's why I took 7-1 on them winning that division at the allstar break..the whole bet was made cuz he just had blanked Oakland impressively.)I remember him getting knocked out of games the Halos had to have in order to get some momentum in September.I'll tell ya exactly what he is in this 2nd half...........unreliable.......,cuz believe me he looked sparkling heading into the 2nd half last year.Maybe he will show up in the 2nd half this year.I wouldn't count on him.Believe me,I thought he looked great heading into that 2nd half last year, but he was a huge disappointment to that team in the 2nd half.It is the main reason they couldn't make a good run at OAKLAND.THE ACE WASN'T SHOWING UP.

That's correct..There is a way to get to that guy, and he starts sweating like a pig.He is not that special.HOW G D QUICKLY people forget this guy not showing up in the 2nd half last year. They would have had a great couple of last weeks in special games with Oakland, but this guy made that impossible by getting blown out against TEXAS,SEATTLE..ETC. THEY HAD TO HAVE A GAME AGAINST texas last year with about 2 weeks left.It was incredibly important, but he had nothing. So,don't f'n tell me **** about Lackey, cuz I can give you game after game last year that he did not get it done at all.At the very least,he can be had.I thought he was pretty good too,but he had no excuse.Just fat country boy wearing down in the heat, and giving it up in the 2nd half.F'N go back and look at the Wednesday after allstar game last year.He was starting a day game ,and simply got blown out in what 2 innings?
