Whatever happened to Mike Willman at Del Mar?

I saw him do a couple paddock previews the first week at DM, but have not seen him since? I like this John Lies better, but wondering what happened to Mike?

Mike was at DM the first week as John, who is the Lone Star track announcer had to finish up at LS.

Mike has taken most of the summer off to be with his two kids. He went thru a divorce, and wanted to spend as much time with the kids as he could.
Since he is PR at SA you wont see too much of him on TV. He still does his Sunday radio show in the So Cal area, with Kurt Hoover. It airs at 9am PDT on 830 AM radio. It is streamed over the net and there is a link on the DM site.

John has done an excellent job, IMO. His dad is, or was, a trainer in So Cal and he knows alot about the game through him. He really gives a great paddock run down prior to the Post Parade.

By the way, for the gals, Kurt Hoover is soon to be off the market as he gets married in a couple of weeks.
