Default For You Reppo => AR Derby

Was just talking to Chuck and Helen Pitts was yelling at him in the background.. She got on the phone and told me For You Reppo will go in the Arkansas Derby after working in 1:00.4 at Oaklawn.. Says he's doing super..

And Einstein next in the Woodford Reserve Derby Day.. He's doing great.

Really liked FYR, hope his effort at TP was polytrack related, and will do better at OP.

Einstein ran giant his last two races. Most on this board do not like him, but after seeing his last two, how can you not like those efforts, both with horrendous trips.

GL to both

Wow..
That is interesting news.
For you Reppo will be going up against Curlin, who she would obviously still be training if he wasn't sold privately after his maiden win.

I'm sure beating him in this spot would be pretty special, and as a fan of FYR, I'd love to see him get to the derby.

I have liked him and for awhile a thought he was one that could blossom in the spring and make a good run at the derby. If I had to guess I'd say this is a case of derby fever. It would take a real breakthrough performance at Oaklawn to convince me he is ready.

Let's hope FYR draws a decent post for once!

I've been liking Einstein a lot since last year. I don't think we've seen his best yet. Showing Up running Fri. at Keeneland. I wonder if he'll be back for the race at Churchill?

FYR is an honest colt getting gradually better, running in a race with some suspects...I think a top 2 finish is a strong possibility....see more when the PP's come out

With a harmless 4th place finish on the polytrack in the Lanes End, I think we'll see a nice price for FYR. Especially with Curlin, Deadly Dealer, Flying First Class and Officer Rocket in the race.

If you intend on betting against Curlin in the Arkansas Derby save your money because he devours this field without Ketchikan. The lack of seasoning is the only concern with Curlin come Derby time.

I have to agree with you on this.

If he is as strong as I think he is, he will take apart that group at Oaklawn.

The best thing to come out of this is we won't have to hear Battaglia turn "for you reppo" into "fooooooor yoooooooou rrrrrrrepppppppo" , but the bad news is we get to hear Terry Wallace butcher it now. Those two are 1 and 1A when it comes to the worst callers.

Curlin, rated down the backstretch, never challenged, took the lead on the turn and waltzed home...count on it! Hope everyone keeps him under wraps and overlooked, come May 5!

Deadly Dealer is a better horse than Curlin. You will soon find out.

If Curlin does win the Arkansas Derby, as expected, I seriously doubt an undefeated, G1 stakes winner will be overlooked on May 5. The general public won't care about a lack of foundation or not running at age 2.

They'll just see a horse that has won 3 races effortlessly.
