![]() So lets kick this off early in the week to start the 2019-2020 Handicapping Season to get our racing brains lubed up. Maybe Delmar with the GIII Bob Hope at 7f or Laurel with 2 Stakes, the James F. Lewis and the the Smart Halo, both at 6f. This time of year it's all about 2YO hopefuls leading to the Derby.
It's early to think Derby but why not? Thoughts?

![]() Doesn't much matter to me. I am just hoping my play is better. I went 13 straight weeks last year at the beginning of the contest without a score in positive territory. It was a hole I was never able to crawl out of.

![]() It's never too early to think Derby, but I am very dubious that we will see any Derby or Oaks contenders in any of the races you mentioned. The choices for next Saturday are somewhat slim, but I think that the overall quality of competition in the Del Mar short season is a touch better. The likelihood of excellent weather is much better.
