Default Tampa Tuesday 12-18-07

Pick 4:

Race 8: Clm 10000N2L 5.0f Dirt

6 - Touch of Cat (9-2) - Draw a line through his two turn debut in last. Sharp work, drop in class and a stalking trip should do the trick.
8 - Zara's Storm (9-5) - Dale Bennett does little wrong at Tampa, but this one has a bit of hang in him (11 slices in 22 races with only 1 win). Velez needs to time it perfectly.
1 - Business Factor (20-1) - Federico will be gunning from the bell. May not look back.

Race 9: Clm 16000 Abt 1 1/16 Turf

8 - Famous Frolic (7-2) - Ran okay in a Venezuelan Gr 1 at 200-1. Can bounce back for Pablo Andrade.
5 - Invisible Light (10-1) - Son of Invisible Ink will love the stretchout. Sibs enjoyed the lawn. Surprise package.
1 - Pitchnicholas (5-2) - Another vulnerable chalk in this sequence. 2 for 30 on the grass and 2 for his last 30 races....I'll pass at these odds.

Race 10: Alw 20200 N1X 7f Dirt

6 - Islandprospectrbob (6-1) - Returned from a 9 month vacation with a powerful Remington win. Out of one of my all-time Tampa favorites, Cinderella Island. Wire to wire.
2 - Forest Fever (7-2) - Bennett-Montalvo a deadly combo here. Last points out that he is not just a poly-wonder when he drew off in Stickney.
8 - Even Par (5-2) - Broke his maiden over the Tampa sand. After a couple even efforts this fall at Del Park, his works look like he is happy to be back.
3 - A Fleet Prospector (12-1) - Turning back from an even 8f race against tougher at CRC.

Race 11: Md 12500 6.0f Dirt

7 - Loveinthegulf (5-1) - Looking for a firster in this horrible heat. Showed he had a pulse on Nov. 7.
9 - Haley's Sunshine (2-1) Draw a line through the October 19 sloppy effort and this one stands out.
6 - Follow Orders (9-2) - Sire Pure Precision has gotten off to an okay start. The other firster....

Small ticket:

1,6,8/5,8/2,3,6,8/7,9 = $48

Larger ticket:

1,6,8/1,2,5,8/2,3,6,8/5,6,7,9 = $192

Note: If the 13 - Classic Trouble, draws into the 9th race, he deserves a long look. All three career turf wins have come over the Tampa blades. Nice little blowout on the 12th.

Good luck to all playing tomorrow.

Day 3

Race 1

4 Sweet Paprika 6-1 Patrick/Bourke/Hoo looks well placed
2 Morethanamiricle 8-1 Ziadie - Tampa - 40% 1st w/trainer (70 horse sample; $2.99ROI)
11 Mauvais’ Coyote 5-2 Should have uncontested lead early

Race 2

3 Devil Slam 2-1 Regally bred Grand Slam sees real dirt for the first time; works decent, should be the best despite layoff
12 Lightning Point 6-1 Point Given out of a mare that has produced Valid
Lightning (217,800), Valid Forbes (401,500) and Pharmstar (160,000)…head scratcher that she’s not any better, but good enough here
11 Galaxy Wind 3-1 Cibelli on the drop from 35 and the cutback turf to dirt

Race 3

12 Magic Kipper 6-1 trainer Debbie Artz surprised with Regal Diamond on Saturday, getting the place award at 22-1… another that hasn’t seen competition since last meet, but should have this one ready - dropping from 25 to 5 after a year off might be a red flag though
1 Mud Shark 8-1 Hoo shipper in top form; just necked out last 2
11 Island Sky 3-1 Classiest of the bunch; probably gets bought here
7 Tricks of Gold 5-2 6yo off since last Feb; working lights out though and Ron Allen 24% off the long layoff

Race 4

9 Jezreeh 6-1 Quick turnaround out of 16k N2L opening day, race didn’t take anything from her, should be a better fit here
6 Fluffy’s Girl 12-1 toss last; right in this Suf shipper’s wheelhouse
8 Triple Treat 12-1 Scase’s Meadow Monster should have an uncontested lead and may be enough to hold off an uninterested bunch

Race 5

10 Jack B Good 3-1 lightly raced High Yield filly gets blinks
2 Campaign Drive 8-1 Scace’s firster has to be better than this bunch
7 Mabel Syrup 15-1 nice price; decent form, cut back and turf to dirt a question

Race 6
1 Trainee 7-5 winner of the Sophmore Fillies and placed in the Suncoast last year here; loves the track; best bet
6 L’s Lightning 5-2 Horse for course, impressive morning tab
2 Bright Pyrite 6-1 OH st breds performing well here, this one will surprise at a nice price

Race 7

6 Mary Louhana 2-1 Two respectable G3 attempts since crossing the pond, in for Mdn 20 against the boys
2 Rue d’Argent 9-2 Cibelli’s Smart Strike has been close last 3 times, if the filly doesn’t fire, next logical
3 Mr. D 20-1 willing to toss the only start over an off track; gets 1st Lasix and blinks- value play

Race 8

4 Two Seater 4-1 gate to wire, baby
7 Thunderula 8-1 trip line reads like a police docket; if Ramgeet can get this guy a clean trip (lol) should factor
10 Al Lloyd 6-1 post is no bargain, but if the speed folds he’s got class enough to keep it interesting

Race 9

1 Pitchnicholas 5-2 Vic Scodius’ first entry of the meet looks bulletproof here
8 Famous Frolic 7-2 Well rested Charasmatic filly gets blinks
7 Loushe 8-1 Drop, draws Centeno

Race 10

9 Moving on the Wind 10-1 rattled off 3 in a row prior to an ill-fated trip in the H Steward Mitchell stakes last December. Working steadily in the mornings- gotta use; if he can return to form he’s a cinch at a price
2 Forrest Fever 7-2 Dale Bennett’s Forrestry gelding from a Deputy Minister mare (that hurts!) should romp here
4 Jet Prop 10-1 Javier Contreras scoring early this meet brings a very logical entry at a fair price
6 Islandprospectbob 6-1 If this were Remmington, he'd be a single. Only one uninspiring published work since arriving, and previous form here skeptical...still, I can't ignore current form and will use
8 Even Par 5-2 I’m going to use in the P4 as a cover but this is a huge bet against in my opinion and an almost certain underlay based on connections Centeno/Zwiesler

Race 11

Another wide open affair to close the P4…. 2yo Mdn 12.5k…eeesh

Using the only 5 horses that make any plausable sense in this race for cover in the last leg of the P4:

5 King Mongo 3-1
6 Follow Orders 9-2
7 Loveinthegulf 5-1
8 Alie’s Doublecross 8-1
9 Haley’s Sunshine 2-1

P4 Large Ticket:
4,7,8,10//1,8//2,4,6,8,9//5,6,7,8,9 4x2x5x5 = 200.00

Small ticket:
4,8//1,8//2,8//5,6,7,8,9 2x2x2x5 = 40.00

I'm not saying it's a single, but I don't think the last Tampa race for Islandprospectrbob was bad at all.He was 3 across in a backside duel, and got beat by an even money shot.Tough race. The Jet horse is pretty game.Sometimes got stuck behind real crap pace, but he wants to do it.You would think they could get better jocks than this ****.

Race 8

#2 Runnymede's Lad (20-1) - Gotta love the 9 routes to sprint angle. Hot jock adds appeal. 3RD @ 60-1
#6 Touch of Cat (9-2) - Hate swallowing short prices in N2L races, but this is the NGLFEWFM angle. 2ND @ 7-2
#8 Zara's Storm (9-5) - The ultimate hanger, will cover on 1 ticket, but huge play against in heavier small tickets WINS @ 6-5
#9 Tell Us More (12-1) - Impeccable breeding on this Nebraska bred gelding. Shocked the world @ 78-1 when he ran by them all in the slop in his debut at Prarie Meadows. Turned out to be a key race when the place horse won next out against donkeys at Fairplex. May get a dream trip here and Ranilla ain't showing up today for sh*ts and giggles...he knows he has hoss here.

$2 EX $17.60
$2 TRI $247.40

Race 9

#5 Invisible Light (10-1) - Like Bigs said, will love the move to grass

#7 Loushe (8-1) - Huge trainer switch and Centeno is $$ on the sod

#8 Famous Frolic (7-2) - Faced tons better than these and Pablo adds blinks.

#10 Judith's Lake (8-1) - Toss last yeilding turf effort and he can run with these WINS @ 6-1

Race 10

#2 Forest Fever (7-2) - Spotted well for this, Bennett/Montalvo rock solid combo 3RD
#4 Jet Prop (10-1) - Go back a ways, but his last NON-TURF start at this condition puts him at the wire. Race has some speed and this Mecke gelding has shown he aint afraid to pass horses in the stretch.
#6 Islandprospectrbob (6-1) - Lightly race Suave Prospect colt still has right to improve. WINS @7-2
#8 Even Par (5-2) - Obvious use, but beatable 2ND

$2 exacta $38.80
$2 trifecta $122.80

Race 11 (I'd say press the all button, but all are capable of not making it to the wire)

Like Rude, the only ones that makes sense to me are:

5,7,9

Large Ticket $192

2,6,8,9/5,7,8,10/2,4,6,8/5,7,9

$1 Pick 4 $395.50

Small Ticket $48

2,6,9/5,7,8,10/2,6/7,9

Early Pick 3 (2-4) go wide in the last two and try to catch a price

Early 3.
Taking a different approach than GPK and searching for a price in the first two legs. Will be playing the bold ones WP with some exotics as well.
3,4,7,10 // 1,9,12 // 1,2,7

Best of luck to all playing today!

I'll start in the 4th, looking to beat Caricaturist who is winless on a Fast track.
I'll go with It'sMissMattyToYou, anticipating a move up with the trainer change

In the 5th, Pegann gets a nice trainer change

Heaven's Flame in the 6th

Was that slight gain at the wire a product of Centeno gearing down or the 11 horse stretching??
and if there is anyone at Tampa who can get an 0 for 17 maiden's picture taken, it's Centeno. I bet him, he burns me. I pass on him, he burns me with a lit cigar.

Centeno did "the dip" just passed the top of the stretch when the 11 pulled almost even with him.

The tote board reflects back to back wins for the 12 hole, races 2 and 3.
