Well done. If they move the gate to compensate and the moves are inconsistent then it's tough to tell the actual distance of the race.

Ideally the gate is moved to compensate for the rails being out. That is, ideally.

I agree that PPs should say where the rail was.

Rails out increases the radius of the turn and narrows the...

Don't count on it. The jockeys should have known before the Derby. BC juvy run, Bo-Rail, trained on the rail. They forgot all about it.

It's like a pitcher says, "The next pitch is going to be a...

Hats off to Street Sense. They stuck to a strategy that worked -- mainly because of pinhead (sorry, had to throw in a Beyerism) moves by everyone else. It was clear they were going to run up the...

Wasn't Beyer the same clown who said Curlin wouldn't finish in the top ten?

Even with the bonehead ride by Albarado Curlin was third. Might have won the damn thing with a different jockey.

12.19 on that track was very good. She tracked solid fractions through the slop and still finished in 12.19. That track was a quagmire.

The boys had a much better track to run on. Street Sense...

Best thing about the Derby . . .

Todd Pletcher.

Maybe some of the owners will start thinking outside the box. Give better horses to guys like Larry Jones, Tom Amoss, Pat Byrne, Michael Matz, throw in our own Cannonshell.

Any of...

She couldn't have possibly done worse than his colts.

I try not to jump on the "greatest" bandwagon -- but Rags looks scary good. She might be the measure of some of the game's greatest fillies. ...

Pletcher could have won the Derby . . .

Rags to Riches. Ran a better final time in bad track conditions. Tack on a :12 clip to her final and she ran faster than Street Sense. She was really motoring past the wire in the Oaks.

Pletcher...

I don't blame the horse here. Watch the overhead replay. Albarado's ride was one for the ages as how to lose a race. He was playing pinball with the horse. Curlin was motoring well and Albarado...

It's a weak group. Maybe he'll be another Seattle Slew and win it in a weak year.

I would look at a rested well bred horse beating him in the Belmont. For SS to run back in 2 weeks and then again...

Absolutely. Why they would bypass jocks like Bejarano and JuLep and go with Robby at CD is another question. He butchered that ride on Curlin.

Tell me and we'll both know. If I can get 6-1 I'll be extremely happy.

If this horse runs back to his previous he'll win easily.

Looking at the weather I would go with:

Curlin
Cowtown Cat
Hard Spun
No Biz

Street Sense carries 145 considering the mud the others bury him with.

He came out of the work very well. If anything, that work may take some of the edge off him. He's bred to get the distance. Must use. Particularly if we see mud. The closers will be buried in it.

It's doubtfull he'll be on the top of any of my tickets. Can't see him catching Curlin. He won't get a dream rail trip and he didn't show much in the Bluegrass.

It was a decent performance. The mid fractions were solid but they were coming off some really slow initial fractions. And he didn't come home in anything riveting.

There's no way Bernardini would...
