I could be mistaken, but I don't believe that he was ever struck out by Glavine, Smoltz, or Maddux. Ever.

In 1986 he had his career high 701 plate appearances, and only struck out 35 times all year.

It was a shame that the Padres were so horrible that a lot of people outside of the NL West really don't know or remember how great he was.
