I have no issue with Reifenstahl's craft, or the brilliance of 'Triumph' and 'Olympia' from a technical/artistic standpoint. But her utter refusal to fully acknowledge her role in the buildup of the pre-war Reich dooms her place in film history. It is not entirely different from Elia Kazan NEVER living down the "naming of names" during the HUAC hearings/Blacklist era. It's a lasting tarnish that skews the appreciation for the artist.
yeah, well it's MY list...of films that made ME think...
