spectacular bid was absolutely that-a spectacular horse. he lost the belmont, and we all know why..and suffered only one loss after, to affirmed. he was the last truly great horse that we've seen. others have had their moments, but when you consider what he did all three years he ran, it's simply amazing. many rank secretariat ahead of him because secretariat had such an astounding triple crown run-but i'd say over all, the bid was better. especially when you consider the ratio of starts to wins/losses.
