Let me post my favorite quote on the subject...
'When Bush stood with his arm around a NY fireman after the 9/11 attacks promising to find whoever did this to the nation, he was every American's president. His polls soared. He had a unique opportunity to unite America, to bring the U.S. together with allies round the world to fight terrorism and hate, to eliminate al-Qaida, to eliminate our vulnerabilities, to strengthen important nations threatened by radicalism. He did NONE of those things..He invaded Iraq!....excerpt from Richard Clarke's book..

i understand what happened back then. i also know we've done nothing but add to the mistakes since. my point was and is that the democrats and their supporters are being disingenuous when trying to lay these two pseudo-wars only at the feet of bush and the republicans, while denying all culpability and claiming they were mislead. so, what's happened in the ten years since to rectify the mistakes made? nothing.
and yes, bush blew it-with the full support of congress, both democrats and republicans then and since then. throwing more and more men and money away on the mistakes made over a decade ago.
oh, and i liked ike. helluva general.
