Nelson is a true point guard. Shoot first, yes, but a point guard. Fredette is an undersized 2 guard that doesn't have the quickness, passing skills or floor reading ability to handle it at the next level. The fact that Nelson is a "bit quicker" makes all the difference in the world at the next level. That is like saying Derek Rose is a "bit quicker" than Derek Fisher at this point. That "bit" is light years and it means the Lakers would need Kobe to cover him. And if Derek Fisher is a "bit slow" what would that make Fredette? A bit crippled?
Comparing a slow white 6 2 shooting guard to a NBA quick 5 11 point guard is getting back into the Delonte West zone as far as silliness.

Admit it they are quite comparable. Not hard to believe Nelson averaged more assists in college considering he played with an NBA backcourt mate who was good enough for the Celtics to sign this off season. When you have to resort to that you know you are grasping at straws. The point that I have been making is that they have comparable skill sets not they are identical twins or even equal in ability. You act as though I said the guy was similar to Shaq.
You seem to have some sort of racial bias considering you keep reminding us that Fredette is white. I know in the games I saw him play (maybe 4 times admittedly not that much since I probably have watched Nelson play 30 times this year) he didn't look slow to me. He isnt Tony Parker fast or Ramon Sessions fast but he isn't Bill Cartwright like you are making him out to be. Honestly how many times have you ever seen him play?
I would love to know how you know a guy doesn't have passing skills or floor reading ability since he obviously has been playing a different role in college and wasn't asked to do much traditional PG work. Of course you said Derrick Rose couldn't shoot and had no three point shooting ability which he obviously has shown he has this year. Did you think Russell Westbrook who averaged 12 and 4 the year prior to coming to the NBA would be averaging 22 and 8 three years later? He shot 68% FT's in college and 82% in the NBA. Did you see that coming as well?
