I don't care if our President is pink with lavender polka dots and worships a jar of mayonnaise so long as he does what's best for the country and listens to the will and desires of the people - not just those looking for someone to continually bail them out of their own bad decisions.
As to the healthcare issue. Yes it desperately needs reform - just not what he's proposing. I don't want to see unfortunate people go without healthcare. I would personally agree to pay an extra percent or two in taxes to help pay for a healthcare plan for people who can't afford it or can't obtain it. And, I don't understand why a healthcare package for these people can't be paid for out of the stimulus package. I just don't like what's going to happen to my healthcare as a result of this plan. Just got a letter from my GP - he's closing his practice at the end of thise year, and I'm going to play hell finding another doctor who will take on another Medicare patient. The ER's will be devoid of people without healthcare only to be replaced by senior citizens who can't find a doctor who will accept Medicare. There's some scary stuff going on out there, and it's only going to get worse.
