if the gun was registered he wouldnt have been charged I dont believe. If he hadnt been a dumbass and carried a loaded gun in his sweatpants.. he wouldnt be going to jail. He's lucky the bullet got his leg and not someone else.
With that said, the sentence is absolutely stupid. I can see convicting him of a misdemeanor.. he did have an unregistered gun that went off in a club and.. but shoot.. a big fine and some community service and probation would have been more than enough punishment. He already shot himself in the leg.
#1.. he should have had a bodyguard. He obviously isnt very good with guns. I completely understand a high profile athlete's need for protection.. it isnt exactly a great world out there.. especially when jealousy and money are involved #2.. he should not have gone to the hospital. A man with his connections should have been able to hide this better & get treatment without going somewhere you know they have to report you.
