He dug up all this forgotten info about these trees in the local park. You know they just didn't grow by themselves in a line following the road through the park. So he dug up old newspaper clippings and found they were planted as a remembrance of the local fellows who were killed in WWI. They were completely forgotten, and if not for his work, would have stayed that way until someone took them down for one reason or another.

Glad he looked into that. Sad, even our doughboys had to fight for what was promised them for serving after the war. All those promises forgotten when they were no longer needed and the Germans blamed for all....and ground work laid for '39.
