"The Administration Does Not Support Blowing Up Planets"

The White House responds to a petition calling for creation of a Death Star.

https://petitions.whitehouse.gov/res...-youre-looking

Government of the nerds, by the nerds, and for the nerds.

Even if we still had a Political Board (bring it back! Freedom! Wolverines!) this would still belong here.

Too late - the Politics/Society board was already blown up - kinda like Alderaan...

You realize you're accusing Steve of being Darth Vader.

Or Grand Moff Tarkin.

More likely Grand Moff Tarkin.

Byk Vader?

Wouldn't call Steve "Vader" - just going along with the Star Wars theme in describing the destruction of the Politics forum.

By the way, when did Governor Tarkin become Grand Moff Tarkin, outside of the Star Wars Lego game? When the movie came out in 1977, the books I had called him Governor Tarkin.

As I recall, my trading cards called him Grand Moff Tarkin, but I would have to go through my parents' basement to be sure, as that's where the cards are, right next to my "Rocky II" trading cards (I had a big crush on Apollo Creed).

I'm sure you're right. For the record, the "Star Wars Storybook" (illustrated, around 1978) called him Governor Tarkin, and I think that's how Leia addresses him, right before Alderaan goes kablooey.

Well, hey, it's not like the series is known for its internal consistency. in "A New Hope", different characters pronounce "Leia" differently.

Though the best mispronunciation is when Leia greets Luke after the Death Star has been blown up and Luke pronounces her name as "Carrie." ;)

i think this is a must ask question in all future debates for the presidency.

'do you support the potential blowing up of a planet should it be warranted?' surely the administration is limiting itself severely in being so rigid with their response.
