ATR PROGRAMMING HEADACHE: Starting Monday..

Starting Monday (5/16), Sirius is adding ESPN Radio programming to Ch. 93 from 10a-7p, interfering with hours 2-3 of ATR (10a-12p) and TVG audio (12-7p). XM 209, Sirius Internet 860 and next day ATR replay 6-9a on Sirius 93 are not affected.

It may take a few weeks for Sirius to work out the situation which will likely find ATR and TVG on a new channel. I'll know more later this week. Hope it isn't too inconvenient for Sirius listeners to catch hours 2 & 3 the next morning, on Sirius Internet, or later the same day via stream, pod or archive.

In the 6 years I have been a Sirius subscriber, I have listened to ESPN radio for a grand total of about 6 seconds. Brilliant move.

Doesn't ESPN radio have its own channel already?

I hope you stay on the internet. My Sirius expires 5/23/2011 and I'm done.

After calling to cancel it in December, the offered me 5 months for a total of $23.82. Now I have to pay up full amount again. It's just not worth it.

Pandora and Tunein radio work great on the computer and iStuff. Hopefully ATR will stay on the web.

During the week leading up to the Preakness is a great time to leave the horse racing radio programing without a station!!!! I love the thinking on this one:mad:

This SUX! I hadn't seen this thread, I just got off the phone, tried to turn the show back on, and it's gone! I thought this was some damn channel mixup! ESPN does have at least 1 or 2 channels already, this is crap!

Echo Farm 05-16-2011 09:29 AM

I just called Sirius to cancel my service. The friendly gentleman in Egypt said that they were updating their system and call back in 2 hours.

I'm glad I didn't wait until the last minute.

This is terrible. You are part of the Pacific time zone's drive to work.

You've been replaced by Waddle & Silvy:zz:

I am trying to register a complaint right now. Unfortunately, the representative is incredibly incompetent which is making this very frustrating, I am not sure she even understands what I am talking about. She is insisting that there has been no change to programming and refers me to the website which has not been updated. To do this on Preakness week of all times demonstrates incredibly poor judgment by Sirius.

Sent them a four-paragraph email from the link above - they promised a "response" within 24 hours, should be interesting, kept stressing this is why am a FORMER customer, is ridiculous ...

slotdirt 05-16-2011 11:03 AM

^^^^ Good luck. In the several years I've had Sirius, any complaint made online has gone unanswered.

golfer 05-17-2011 05:49 AM

I received an e-mail response last night from someone named Ghen, telling me my "concerns" will be forwarded to the programming team (in other words, the same geniuses who thought this was a good idea in the first place). I feel very confident this will be rectified momentarily:rolleyes:
