War Pass.....

...is 14-1 to win the Derby at Bodog.

Not an April Fools Joke.

If I could I would buy at 14-1 now and sell after the Wood but things don't work that way.

You can probably do that on E-Horse or whatever that site is

jcs11204 04-01-2008 07:39 PM

why not take 14-1 now and keep it ? ever hear of something called VALUE, if he wins this saturday there is not chance he goes off anything over 4-1 in the derby, why not keep the 14-1, even if you dont like him ? he will be forwardley placed and give you a good thrill for your money, at odds that are a lot better then you will get on derby day

jcs11204 04-01-2008 07:40 PM

also if i am not accurate on this one then tell me....

diden't war pass run a similar race to big brown, actually twice ? the grade 1 at belmont and the breeders cup, twice as a 2 yr old he ran very fast early and kept going late.... i dont like war pass, but i just think ppl are way to big brown crazy

Why would you take a horse you dont like just because he has value? If you dont think the horse can win the derby, why bet him. A great thrill for your money.... If your looking for a thrill go play craps or blackjack..... I wouldn't bet a horse that had early speed just so i could have a "thrill" for my money....

And? The Wood ain't the final destination, and if he doesn't learn how to relax, he's toast in the Derby, regardless of his performance on Saturday.

"1. war pass isn't even a consideration for winning the derby. Come on guys. I put him on my vulture list the second he staggered in the lane that time.
A sprinter breed, who runs like a sprinter... wins some 8.5 furlong races and you think he gets 10 furlongs in a 15 horse+ field? WTF? Is anyone who considers themselves beyond a "fan" actually touting warpass? War pass will be lucky if he wins his 9 furlong prep(s)."

I agree. His Tampa race was horrible and even his prep where he beat a terrible field was questionable since his 6f fraction was slower than what 10K claimers went running the same distance that day. Going back to last year, he handled slop and Pyro didn't. And Pyro wasn't going to beat him at 6f. But he has the look of a Capote, Arazi and those other 2YO champs who didn't move forward (or regressed) at age 3.

I wanted to play against at the BC, but when it rained it was going to be hard to catch horses like War Pass. To their credit he ran very well that day. The 2yo season is basically to crown a champion miler. It helps to be precocious. They don't always match the kind of horses that have to run 10 furlongs. I actually hope War Pass bounces back and shows some heart.
