Modest win Thursday in SA P4, but opportunity was there for it to be much better if Sagebrush Queen holds on in the 7th. As discussed with Rich Eng, the Gutierrez trainee was attractive turning back while going turf to dirt in a short field with some pace in it. Had no idea going in that the filly would be a gaudy 15-1 and I made a sizable win bet. She looked good striking the front 75 yards out, but could not stop Bejarano and 2nd choice Always a Chance. Ugh..

The late decision off-turf SCR of Kozani left the P4 play with favorite Melatonin and the Bonde charge ran away from the field in his 5th start (first on dirt) to return $63 on the $49 quad plays. A Sagebrush Queen victory in the 7th ups that pay day towards $300. What are you gonna do? Play Friday’s P4! Hope everyone did well… Big weekend of action ahead.
