Acute pneumonia, hospitalized, sedated,
Catalano remained in the intensive care unit at Saint Alexius Medical Center in Hoffman Estates, Ill., as of Thursday morning, according to his wife, Renee Catalano, who was at the hospital with him. She said her husband was sedated and on oxygen.
“He’s really, really sick,” she said.

He was on hand Saturday at Arlington to send Aurelia’s Belle out to win the Arlington Oaks but said he still was feeling unwell.
Catalano, a former jockey and 11-time leading trainer at Arlington, turned 58 Thursday. "
