If not his play than what? His intangibles, maybe. Both Decker and Miller were on espn yesterday saying the same things, the guy brings the team up and isnt scared to put it on his own back when need be.
Re: Ponder...I will take 2-8 62tds and a TD (plus one rushing) over 16-38 160 and an INT every day.
You all don't like him (as a QB anyway, I give everyone credit for speaking to his person and work ethics) but this town has really jumped on board and it has been fun. I hope they keep winning.
But has he really put the team on his back? It seems like in 2 out of the 3 wins (Miami and KC), they got very strong defensive performances (against bad teams). In the Oakland game they got a few big plays out of other players (McGahee and Royal), regardless he played well in what was a very good road win. I guess as the QB, he's the leader and a big part of it, but realistically those seemed like overall total "TEAM" wins as opposed to a guy carrying the entire team on his back.
You would think that those intangibles he brings to the table will get tried quickly if and when he is needed to really carry the team on his back and throw the ball 40 times. I think that's when we will see what he's really made of.
