Rajiv rode a hopeless 15:1 speed horse that ran off on him and Cornelio Velasquez was in a bad position behind a horse that has a well earned reputation for lugging out very badly and was actually lugging out badly. Unfortunately for him, when he commited to moving inside, Fastus Cactus stopped drifting, and he got screwed. It happens. These are split second decisions that happen every day and sometimes they work and sometimes they don't. Victim of circumstance.

Believe it or not, riders rode poorly when the riders you named were around....including Pat Day who blew many a big race.
