I don't have a problem with it; this is how he makes the majority of his wages. It was either gomez or someone else to take the mount. Either way, for me, that is not a reason to dislike someone.
yes, i am well aware; however, everyone should have a chance at redemption. addiction is a disease...he has paid his dues (rehab, counseling, incarceration, lost wages, etc.) and seems to be living right. it's unfair for us to judge these guy when we really do not know them, that is my point.
I do not think it is obvious that Ramon is more skilled or less skilled; however, i do respect ramon's reasons for staying in NY and should have no reflection on his skill level, nor should the "weak" so cal jockey colony (one that includes bejarano, rosario, talamo, flores, pval, smith, etc) reflect on gomez.
there are about 5-8 top jocks whom you can not separate, in my opinion.
