Spoke with Chuck who is on the 2 hour ride back from KD. Obviously an up and down afternoon...
Aldebutante, who broke well and had fine early position, simply refused to run when Aldo asked for real effort. And when he hit her a couple of times, she totally stopped trying. Chuck said she worked herself up pretty good pre-race, and Aldo added she really wasn't too interested warming up. She's a problem case. Very frustrating. We will finally get her back to dirt next out though. (The intent had been for this start to come at Hoosier on the main until the strangles quarantine scuttled it.) And Chuck is likely throwing the hood on her for focus.
As for KNS, what else is there to say? She was a maniac in the paddock and just couldn't wait to run. It took John Fahey, Chuck, TC and the pony to contain her. Chuck knew Sunday she was going to put in a good effort when she couldn't be kept on the ground. Funny that the winner was back on 7 days and Kickin on 5. (And, she lost the weight break when we lost Miss Rossi.)
Interesting experience, and another venue visited! Hope everyone enjoyed the upbeat finish and aren't too disappointed by the first half of the day's endeavors. More tonight from Chuck when he gets back to the Ville.
