Kelly Kip sure did love a wet race track ... kind of like almost every horse ever associated with Cannon or any of the Jerkens.
He won his debut in the slop with a 104 Beyer. The second time he caught a sloppy track he won the Sanford Stakes by double digit lengths with a 107 Beyer .. that year's 2yo champion Boston Harbor was 2nd and Say Florida Sandy 3rd.
His 3rd time in the slop he went 6fs in 1:14 and change at Saratoga with a 120 Beyer as a 3-year-old.
His only career loss on an off race track came in the Bold Ruler where he was 2nd beaten a head with a 112 Beyer. It was his 2nd to last career start at the tailing point of his career and his final numbers were as follows: 92-92-100-112-73
