Then he decided to retire and go on TV and rip/criticize people in the organization. He became public enemy #1. He only talked trash on TV, could you imagine if he gave tips to the Eagles or Cowboys? Obviously Tiki Barber is not the icon that Brett Favre is.
This whole situation is going to come down to what the Packers organization wants to do. Whether they want to fan the flames and turn this into a real story/fire and jepordize whatever legacy Favre has left in GB. Or do they just let it die (which I think they will do) and set it up for Brett to sign a one day contract and retire his #4 in GB, get a job in the front office and everyone will live happily ever after.
Very true. There still is a lot of love for #4 in GB, but this is not helping that. Since the pack has a bye this week it will continue to be talked about locally since there is nothing else going on in WI sports (badgers are horrific, the bucks will be lucky to win 25 games, college basketball hasn't started, etc.) I don't think the organization wants to make a big deal about it, because there is still a great deal of $ marketing #4 especially when he retires. Local radio guys are already stating that he is dead to them if this is true and that he should retire a Jet. I am not ready to go that far yet, but if it is true it is inexplicable. Favre has lied so many times that you can't really believe anything he says. I especially love the story Paul Hornung told of Brett. Brett and Paul were out golfing and of course drinking and drinking pretty heavily. Later that day Brett comes on Hornung's talk show and Paul asks him about his drinking problem and Brett looks him straight in the face and says I haven't had a drink in over a year. This after he and brett were drinking all day. Just shows the character of brett.
