I don't know if he'd be 15 or 20 to 1 against so called legit G1 milers -- he was 3-5 against G2 stock, or at least a couple of G2 horses. Maybe though.
I think some people are giving a lot of credit for: a) beating older horses, b) on turf -- first time in a very long time, and in a very different world, c) going fast early on and being dead game at the end, d) and more.
He deserves much of that credit. I don't think there was a G1 horse in the field. He wasn't surrounded by 2 BC winners, and so on -- but he won a very good race. However, let's keep in mind that a G1 turf race is very different from what we saw yesterday -- very different!
