Coach, I got a funny fortune cookie today - "HELP I'M TRAPPED IN A CHINESE BAKERY" - I didn't know what to make of it, but the general tsoa w/ extra hot sauc3 was on point.
watching race replays isn't just looking for "trips" and then shuffling back to your speed figure. Maybe you know this, I honestly don't have a feel for you, other than a pretty sharp sense of humor.
A lot of general horseplayers are like a Stats Geek in baseball who knows all the On base% and Slugging% and goes through the box score, but he never really played sports or took a big interest in the
Actual Sport of baseball.
Maybe he bets $$ on baseball. Maybe its in Rotissery or Fantasy...
But he doesn't notice when the pitcher really has to dig down in the glove to grip the splitter. He doesn't know if the pitcher will throw a 2-0 or 3-1 breaking ball.
He doesn't know the tracks - i mean "stadium" dimensions. He doesn't know if the batter hit the top or the bottom of the baseball for that weak ground out. He vaguely recollects something about a hit-and-run and isn't 100% sure about the slugger's intentions.
You look at a race replay and all you see is the Actual Sport of horseracing.
The more you learn about the basics, the stronger your visual interpretation will be.
