i don't have facts that support this. but what i think is that for every player he inspires to maximize their talant there is another he has ruined.
he's a great coach. and for some players he's exactly what they need.
but he comes with serious baggage. i don't think that's true for dean smith. and many other's.

i read the only player that dean smith ever advised to leave school early was rasheed wallace, because he wanted him OUT of the program. apparently CDS couldn't through to him. i don't think knight really dealt with kids like wallace.
