You are absolutely correct!! But, based on my experience, it can also be a nightmare for a manager, especially when you are dealing with new owners. Sometimes, when the newbies don't completely have a grasp of things, expectations get whack and it makes it hard to manage.
I'm pleased to see some here acknowledging a claim wouldn't have been a bad thing yesterday. Cash is king when you own claimers and there's nothing wrong with turning over horses and making $$'s in the process. A $30k capital appreciation would have been something to be proud of - that's a big part of succeeding in the claiming game.
