Having been to the Derby twice and the Belmont four times, I've gotta say the Derby towers over the Belmont. It has everything.
When a Triple Crown is on the line, the Belmont rocks. Otherwise, it's just a nice day.

Agree completely. But for sheer enjoyment, Preakness day is my personal favorite.
Been to the Belmont 15 times now, the Preakness 11 times, and the Derby only once... but the Oaks 4 times (the Derby is amazing, but when you actually want to bet, forget it. It's a phucking nightmare.)
I still haven't been to an NCAA Tournament game where MY school was playing (F YOU, selection committee
) but maybe I'd change my mind if that was the case.
