I think Chelokee being in Matz's care is certainly a good thing because he has never been known as one to hurry horses along or frivolously put them in a spot where they don't belong. He is certainly not as fast as the best of his crop, but down the road that could be a different story. I think he garnered so much attention because of the tough trip allowance win (that was not terribly quick) and what people really mis-construed as a tough trip in the Fla Derby. That trip wasn't easy, but he could have finished with a bit more gusto.
