There is only one AP All-Pro playing on offense or defense in the upcoming Super Bowl. Seattle's JSN. Only 7 out of 59 teams have won a SB without an All-Pro. New England is trying to do it for the 3rd time:
1970 Colts
1982 Redskins
1984 49ers
2001 Patriots
2007 Giants
2016 Patriots
2020 Bucs
The average is 0.98 All Pros on offense and 1.05 All Pros on defense.
The most All Pros (post-merger) is 5 - by some pretty legendary teams:
1973 Dolphins (Csonka/Warfield/Little/Anderson/Scott)
1979 Steelers (Stallworth/Webster/Ham/Lambert/Shell)
1985 Bears (Payton/Covert/McMichael/Dent/Singletary)
1999 Rams (Warner/Faulk/Pace/Carter/Farr)
Denver had the most this year (Meinerz/Bolles/Surtain).
