back in 1793 and 1794, parisians would go to mass, then go get wine and cheese and sit around the village square as the guillotin provided them with hours of ongoing entertainment. the children would run through the fields and play tag, grandma would knit, and father would discuss business (yes, even on the sabbath) with other merchants, all as the new "citizen's government" leveled off the shoulders of louis xiv's family and friends. that kind of stuff has been a big seller for years.
