"Coolmore regret to confirm that Vertigineux, dam of superstar Zenyatta has indeed passed away.
The daughter of Kris S suffered an acute colic last year and was sent straight to the Hagyard Equine Medical Institute where everything was done to save her but unfortunately this was not possible.
Vertigineux was covered by Tapit in 2013 when she failed to go in foal. Her final offspring is her unnamed two-year-old full-brother to Zenyatta."
