I seriously didn't see this one comin either... crazy

But maybe should we give any pro athlete the benefit of the doubt anymore? Thge one that still shocked me was Rafy Palmeiro. NONE OF YOU ****ERS PRETENED YOU KNEW IT ALL ALONG WITH HIM. He wasn't like the other power hitters. He had such a sweet swing and some of the quickest strongest hands in the game. I was still shocked by that.

So maybe no one should get the benefit of the doubt anymore

You can take this how you want but personally knowing Shawne I doubt very seriously he was injecting any steriods, I think he might of been taking a supplement that contained something he should'nt of took,,,but if you knew this young man I don't think he intentionaly cheated thats just one mans opinion but you couldnt asked for a better kid he is a great person and I dont for a second believe he did it knowingly...I'm sure the naysayers will have a field day but if there is a player in the NFL who has given back to his community more then Shawne I would like to meet him..

I can't bash him.

Even if he cheated he seems like a nice kid. My issue with Bonds isn't so much that he cheats but that he's a horrible horrible human being.

I hope Merriman wasn't cheating. But even if he was, it's like Jules said in Pulp Fiction. Personality counts.

Next you are going to tell us Giambi and Sheffield didn't use steroids. There is no way Yankees could be cheaters. LOL.

The only thing I am going to tell you next is to GFY....it will come out that he took a supplement that was tainted and he had no idea that it was tainted simple as that and you choose to believe what you want since you know everything

Sorry but I have no sympathy. There are plenty of companies that will test any supplement out there to tell you exactly what is in it. Any professional athlete would have to be an absolute idiot to try a new supplement without testing it. The NFL even has a list of approved supplements. If he really took steroids accidentally then he should be suspended for idiocy.

Coach Pants 10-26-2006 12:53 PM

Oh the good ol' supplement excuse. I can't wait until his defense deteriorates to blaming it on the white man.

I guess it is a little differnt when you know someone,,,,But I can understand everyone's apprehension to believe someone but if you knew this kid you also would have trouble thinking that he cheated but thats the way the cookie crumbles.

I know people that have done plenty of stupid things. Just cause I know them doesn't mean they still don't deserve the punishment. It is good to see that at least the NFL policy is still somewhat working as high profile players do get caught every once in a while. Meanwhile MLB threw out a few suspensions early to get the feds off their back and now magically the entire problem is solved (yeah right).
