since they pulled their AAA team from my home base I say go Tigers.

The top 8 in the Yankees batting order tonight made a combined $125 million this year. That is more than any other payroll in baseball and doesn't even include a pitcher. Egads!

Why don't we just give the Yankees the World Series. They are so good it is pointless to even play. Ask the Marlins or the Diamondbacks. How about the Red Sox.

Just remember, you can have all the championships you want, but the Yankees will always be the team that choked away a 3-0 to their biggest rival. Pathetic.

And for the record, the Yankees have spent a billion dollars in the last 5 years and won ZERO championships.

By the way Nostra he may be highly paid but hes home grown all the way through, drafted by the Yanks and through the system.
You might wanna note that Wang was one of the greatest bargain finds(he wont be after this year, a bargain I mean) and the Yanks deserve kudos for going after him.
Yanks really need this game tonight based on the way that Randy Johnson is talking about his own health.

As much as I hate the Yanks....it is incredibly hard to not like Derek Jeter...he is simply money.

He and Donnie Baseball are about the only two Yanks I ever cared to watch play.

Hes the anti-Arod. And his passion is just incredible. He was asked last night about the MVP possibility and he just looked at the guy with disgust. Jeter couldn't care less about the MVP, and most guys would. All he wants is rings.

Pudge is just as classy as Jeter, I hate hearing about Jeter this and Jeter that. Who gives a damn.

Jeter is the ultimate athlete. Has won 4 rings, ALWAYS comes through in the clutch, doesn't get involved in scandals or drugs.
Hes a throwback to the old days when athletes could be role models for kids.

Jeter being clutch is the biggest myth in baseball. In the postseason he hits .307 as opposed to .317 in the regular season. In the postseason he strikes out at almost a 20 percent clip as opposed to 17.5 percent in the regular season. In the postseason he averages an RBI every 9.8 at bats as opposed to every 7.8 at bats in the postseason.

Isn't a clutch player supposed to improve those numbers in the postseason rather than see them dip? It isn't like he's any more clutch in the regular season, he hits .307 with RISP and .314 with the bases empty.

He's a very good baseball player but this idea that he is so clutch cause people remember a couple big plays and forget all the times he's struck out in the late innings of big postseason games is ridiculous.

F'ing Tigers gave that game away last night. Not sending Thames with no outs in the third on a single to right and the double steal an inning early totally blew the game in the wrong direction. Inept postseason coaching combined with an inexperienced team led to that loss last night.
