Glad Alex scratched yesterday for this spot. Still a tough race but he shouldn't have to run down a loose on the lead speedball. Even if Pants on Fire goes off alone, I don't think he has near the talent of the Factor. The extra 16th won't hurt either.

be interesting to see if macho man is closer to the WWE version or is the real dael

lemoncrush 03-21-2011 08:27 AM

Does anyone know the motivation for continuing to enter Liondrive in these kinds of spots?
Is it just over-zealous local owners who want to watch their horse get pummeled by 30 lengths in a Grade 2?

Gate Dancer 03-21-2011 08:35 AM

Over/Under for Napravnik wins Saturday............1.5?.............2.5?

I don't know, but I really think she's riding about as well as anyone in the country right now. I know it's not the world's best colony down there, but she's actually got a sense of pace and shows great patience most of the time, which I can't say about too many out there right now outside of Leparoux, Dominguez, and Rosario.

I was thinking the same thing....Come on Tim Ice are you worried that you will lose the owner by telling them you won't enter the horse in these kind of spots.

gotta put it at 2.5 with her being on Bind and Might being heavy heavy fav's

I follow and play the fairgrounds on a daily basis. Its been a while since a jockey has come there dominated the standings like she has. She keeps impressing me with her skills She can flat out ride. she really seams to be able to give anything she rides a better chance with her on board. She will go to the front in a paceless race. stalk and make a perfectly timed ride to hold off the deep closers and she is just effective closing from far off the pace. She has been the best jockey by far there this meet and its not even close.

Over 2.5

Over 2.5

Can't argue a bit with that...............everytime I check out the races on HRTV she seems to get 2,3, or 4 a day..............

Going to be a fun day. Weather in the low to mid 80's, 0 to 20% chance of rain, they keep changing it, humidity should be fairly low but they keep saying breezy to windy.

Betsy 03-25-2011 07:18 PM

The folks conducting the chat at KY Derby.com said that Al Stall likes Left a lot more than Bind........if that means anything.

somerfrost 03-26-2011 05:19 PM

La Derby upset

Pants on Fire holds on over fast closing longshot Nehro with Mucho Macho Man third.

tjfla 03-26-2011 05:22 PM

How many front runners is the KY Derby gonna have?

Almost always a contentious early pace in the Derby, looks the case again this year.

Linny 03-26-2011 05:48 PM

Big kudos to Seth Merrow of Equidaily who loved the runner up at a big price.

Nehro is more interesting than Pants On Fire, IMO. Mucho Macho Man should pack it in. I don't care that he didn't need the win, but this was not a very good field

Despite his close today, don't see Nehro wanting 10 furlongs, Pants on fire was entered as a rabbit...pretty unimpressive field so Mucho Macho Man and Elite Alex have to be downgraded imo.

I'm not saying I like Nehro at all, just dislike Pants On Fire more.

Mucho Macho and Elite Alex should be retired to stud(lol)

DaTruth 03-26-2011 06:17 PM

Elite Alex had a tough task. The top 3 were second, third, and fourth through the first 3/4s behind a hopeless longshot. Machen was a bit closer than Elite Alex early, but Machen lost more ground around both turns. Machen looked like he was going to run a big race on the far turn, but hit a brick wall at the 1/8th pole.
