Thoroughbred Legacy

I was listening to some old podcasts of the Byckster and I heard him doing a segment called "Thoroughbred Legacies". I really loved when Steve did this segment.

Did he stop doing it or is it something he does later on in the year? Anyone know?

Don't know the answer to that question, but I wish he'd quit ragging on CIGAR.

stopped it

:( That's a shame.
I hope he brings it back. Byck has such a knowledge of the games history. And it's always so informing when he talks history with the guests.

Holy Mother of God.

The....."Bykster?"

Such a shameful display of brownie point pursuit.

smart,

Appreciate the mention and interest in the segment, and 'Thoroughbred Legacy' will definitely come back. It was originally done with Bob Fox coordinating/narrating. I was hoping to get the Hall of Fame involved in it, but their very poor decision to release Communications Director Mike Kane greatly diminished my interest in doing anything with them. But I will put together a new 'Thoroughbred Legacy' series soon..

Really! Wow. Steve I hope your not pullin' my leg here. If you could have him on that would be great!

I'd love to hear him talk some Preakness history with you. I'd love for him to talk about the best Preakness race ever in my opinion - the one between Easy Goer and Sunday Silence. (Easy Goer was much the best and it angers me like nothing else to watch him lose this race. He deserved better). I'd love to hear him recall some of his favorite Preakness'. He has this ability to describe the game and it's beauty like no one else. He really speaks to the soul of this game. The guys a true horse historian and every time he speaks I get the chills.

Him, Haskin and you talk horse history like no one else. Please get him on this week if you can. I would go ape to hear him talk Preakness with you.

Hey you guys. I’ve uploaded some of the thoroughbred legacy segmments from last year. They’re edited down and commercial free.
When I would visit the track out here in California, I would leave relativly early iin the morning. Because it was so early in the morning, Sirius XM wouldn’t be broadcasting races yet. This meant I couldn’t hear TVG’s morning line or enjoy any of the previous days At The Races with Steve Byk.
This left me with only Howard Stern and music channels to listen to. Being a lover of the gameI decided I would burn a cd with some of steves segments on them, and instead of listening to the radio, I’d use my time wisely to furthe educate myself on the sport of kings.
Always a thoroughbred history buff, I naturally chose to focus on the segments that delt with the games history.
It really was worth my time to listen to these segments rather than listening to some music on sirius.
And so I thought I’d share these with you. Next time you guys are on the way to the track, rather than listen to the radio, I suggest you burn a cd with some of these segments on them. They’ll really help to educate you and hopefully you’ll get as much out of them as I did.
Enjoy...
