Stately Victor

For the love of God, someone please talk me out of betting him in the Derby. What if it wasn't the Keeneland surface that he liked? What if he woke up?

I seriously need help.

Sooner or later a "synthetic" horse will win the Derby. I might bet this horse too.:o, but he has to be long again. If he wins will you change your avatar?

If he does not win, will you change your Avatar?

Has Stately Victor even been out of the barn since Keeneland? Honest question.

Ok, I'll throw out a couple of shots to get you off this guy. His only 2 dirt starts resulted in Beyers of 59 and 75. Granted the 59 was his last start as a 2yo but it also was at Churchill. The 75 was his first start as a 3yo at the end of January. It's possible the 'light bulb' may have gone off but pretty hard to endorse based on prior experience. I don't expect him to magically take to the dirt for this race. Most synthetic horses have either had better numbers or shown they have some talent for the dirt. The Blue Grass wasn't exactly the strongest prep either.

Use at your own risk, IMO.

Did you bet on Rockamundo in '93?

Just read the above-

#1 Blue Grass wasn't that strong, the dirt horses who needed to get in by running good all ran terrible on poly

#2 If he had a good race on dirt I might think of playing him but Top beyer of 75 Doesnt make me jump for joy

#3 General Quarters,Monba,Dominican.10th,20th,11th

His dirt form is worse than Mine That Bird.

Rootdog1 04-26-2010 10:43 AM

his last 3 races with blinkers off have been nice. He will make a run...he only wins if others fail.

The only advice I have is this...

I'm definately using him (on top, no less) and I pretty much always suck with Derby picks.

You might wanna stay away from Conveyance and Paddy O'Prado too cause I'm using them as well.

You've been warned. :D

SOREHOOF 04-26-2010 04:45 PM

I think he has a shot. He wasn't exactly tearing it up on the turf either. Ghostzapper on top maybe he needed time and experience. I'm using him.

If Mine that Bird can win the derby any horse with 4 legs can win. If you like Victor throw the money through the window with both fists!

I won't talk you out of anything. Bet him HEAVY.

All kidding aside, how many horses have you seen suddenly "wake up" the start before the KD?
