I think two of these are better than the field running at the Fair Grounds.

Tornado Betty in the Oaks is from Turf Paradise and the Owner,if she runs well, is pointing her to the Kentucky Oaks.

Could have said that last year, too.

You don't think drawing the Southwest winner from Oaklawn and place horses from the Gotham in NY and the Risen Star in Louisiana is a giant step in solidifying this race's place on the Derby trail?

It's sure top heavy. Not a criticism, as you're right, but there is some drop off after those three.

I knew that right after I posted there would be a MTB reference. Sorry, it's a stupendous field. Can't wait for Sunday.

Actually, I was thinking more of Mythical Power. But whatever.

Clearly you're just bitter that Tiz Chrome dropped off the face of the earth and you can't hint at any coy tidbits from the barn anymore.

Yeah, the suffering is overwhelming. I try to get through it with plenty of Chianti and Ambien.

slotdirt 03-25-2010 08:25 AM

This field is 10 times better than the 2009 field, and that one somehow produced a Derby winner.

Glowing Endorsement

Between Elliot Walden talking Endorsement up a couple of weeks ago and Friday's preview show plugging him, 'At the Races' listeners should be pretty happy tonight.

blackthroatedwind 03-28-2010 08:43 PM

I hope your listeners are more discerning than that.

Walden told the listeners about him a few weeks ago when he kept getting cancelled out of starts for one reason or another.

I gave him out on the air Friday...
