Just wondering...

why the groom gets two years, the trainer one, this obscure stable was "under observation" and who or why anyone would want to set up Scott Raley with vodka?

Shouldn't the groom, who was in possession of the needle and syringe, get the more severe punishment?

If he was acting on the trainers orders shouldnt they get similar penalties?

I suppose if the trainer admitted to giving him the orders, but since he says he was "setup" I presume that's not the case (the trainer was present when the groom was caught, however).

There is something unusual about this whole thing

It's interesting that the groom took the 2 years without putting up a fight, while the trainer seems intent on appealing his 1 year suspension.

Maybe they threatened the groom with criminal charges if he didn't accept the penalty?

Serious question, what does a syringe of vodka do to a T-Bred?

The Bid 03-20-2010 06:28 AM

Actually Vodka is Not strong Enough Not enough Proof
Everclear has been Used for years the 190 proof kind.

It is actually used to pump one up
Just think of it this way the guy you always see in the Bar who has had that first Shot or drink who won't shut up it gets your Adrenaline pumping and you think you can whip the World.

I know a few oldtimers that swear by it.

I would love love a vet to explain how alcohol can act as a stim.? Might make you stupid but hardly on edge.. Now ritalan might be worth a shot?

Round Pen 03-20-2010 05:24 PM

Freddy a vet is the first one Who told Me About had to be 20 maybe 25years ago I have seen it used lots and lots of times and it works.
the vet that told me this is no longer with us but he was probably the most well known vets off all time based in Ky.
You should be able to figure it out from there ( I bet Cannon will know who it is);)

freddymo 03-20-2010 05:41 PM

Maybe science wasn't taught back then..lcohol is NOT a stim. It just is scientifically incorrect.. You want to tell me it relaxs an idiot horse or makes another one do silly shiiit sure.. Chemically, alcohol isnt exactlly meth..

Round Pen 03-20-2010 07:05 PM
