The Prodigal Son returns in all of his great glory!

Spare the fatted calf for now, wankers.

For he may not make his glorious return to the States for some time .. but he is entered in Thursday's Al Bastakiya at Meydan.

I thought Crisford said either that one or something the following night depending on if he was ready or not (since he wasn't a few weeks ago).

You should offer up your first born with all the money you made off him.

I expect the Al Bastakiya should come up relatively light if the top two, Musir and Frozen Power, wait for the UAE Derby. Ajtebi is riding lights out, regardless. The pick of races, I believe, was depending on the fields and posts drawn.

Ajtebi is riding lights out? The guy looks like a camel jockey in the saddle..whoops he is a camel jockey sorry.. Have a heart Pat the guy is on 1 of 3 horses in the race with a morsel of talent and 14 others that are grossly outclassed. GG Richard would be rocking with horses. The whole carnival is a sham and should be precluded from serious race discussion. Hope the new gelding works out for Godumbfin.. 2 mil for a gelding off a maiden Calder score..sounds to me like someone will not be making love to 40 virgins in the after life?

Considering how bad he was when in California (he looked AWFUL day in and day out, when he had a mount, that was), Ajtebi has had some exceptionally good rides and made some great judgments at the Carnival. If you want race by race examples, I'll be happy to oblige.

Pat respectfully I recognize you enjoy the Carnival and work hard on it. I appreciate the effort and work you do. Seriously its a joke of a meet, that doesnt mean your work or your intention is a joke, just that it is a charade and should not be considered anything more then what my dear adversary Rollo has repped it as : an exhibition of horse racing!.. It is an illegitimate meet that is contrieved to feature the Goldolpin wasteland of horses. DeKock comes aboard to steal some money for his patrons and the rest is scripted hogwash.. If you think Tam Lin running every 9 days in any race that seems suitable is true sportsmanship then I yield to your better judgment.

As for Ajtedi..he couldnt make a living at Turf Paradise. The fact that he is aboard 2 million dollar stock vs. 20 claimers is a function of his statehood not his talent

Pat Ajtebi is a horrendous jock and you know this...Angel Serpa is 100 times better and he is still in diapers. The sheiks horses are free run with ANY med's he elects to infuse in them.. they are pirates in a sea of lambs...

PatCummings 02-28-2010 08:25 PM

Well, you know we'll disagree on many elements.

I've criticized Ajtebi privately (some on this board have heard it) in the past but he has dramatically improved this meet. His rides on Siyaadah in the UAE 1000 Guineas, Allybar in the second round of the Maktoum Challenge, and Antinori in last week's first race, were fabulous. Dramatic improvements from what I've seen from him in the past.

As for Godolphin...when its your home court, and everyone else is shipping in to play ball and hope to take away your prize, why wouldn't they have an advantage? If you want to believe all the rest, go ahead. I've had those arguments here before, plenty.

All I know is he gave Vale of York a sucky ride......I thought about it every day when I was at Disney World , paid for by the suckiness.

I was as critical as anyone about Ajtebi when he was riding here but he proved in 2009 he's a money rider. In addition to the BC Juvenile win he won two on World Cup night (Eastern Anthem, Gladiatorus) and that's an accomplishment.

Only difference is that instead of the Mouse House, I was doing damage in the Apple store.

Other than Fernando Jara, who wouldn't have won on Gladiatorus?

Instead of going to the Apple Store, let me know next time you want to burn some money and I'll send you a lighter.

Thanks...will do.

Hope you're enjoying that beautiful Southern Maine weather this time of year.

I could've seen Kent Desormeaux pulling a 2007 Alabama and saying...eh, the trainer says go to the lead, but I'll break fast, then strangle my mount back, settle long last, and hope to make one big run with my pace-loving mount, then finish a distant fourth.

The Indomitable DrugS 02-28-2010 10:54 PM

He won only two races in his time in America ... one on Vale of York ... and the other was an interesting riding performance on a 1/2 shot at Turf Paradice...

which you can see by doing a horse search for Street Haven at Cal Racing.

PatCummings 02-28-2010 11:22 PM

The way he rode races in the US, like that one at TuP was so odd and halting, much different than I've seen from him in Dubai this season...yet it was only days removed from his races there...strange.
