Mission Impazible got screwed on the re-draw.
Dublin's camp has to be happy.

Conveyance got screwed too, but since both have adequate speed, I don't think it will be a big deal.

I think we will learn a lot Saturday with the FOy and the SW stakes.
I expect a new shooter or two to join the fray.

Im thinking Mission Impaz might be the one to do it.

Redraw was nice indeed for Dublin. This should be a great race

It's a great race, my thinking is this: Baffert worked Conveyance at Oaklawn on Feb. 17 and appeared to look for his usual fast, blistering work-Conveyance was 2nd best of 25 horses at the distance, Dublin was the fastest. This is Lucas' only real hope, and I accept the physical excuses for Dublin's last two performances, and feel he's primed, big time!

Baffert ran big, Lukas sucked up, the rest stink.

Did you even watch the race or pay attention to Oaklawn today? Because based on that I can't infer that you did. Oaklawn was playing very fast and speed favoring today. Not only did Baffert's horse go with the track bias, he also got a good setup having things his own way on the front end, while Dublin was off in a tangle and way, way back and he was the ONLY horse to make up any ground whatsoever. If anything I would say Dublin ran the much more impressive race.

Mission Impazible ran a decent race breaking from that crappy post.

I really loved the ride Conveyance got.

The guy wasn't going to dick around and rate him like Pino did when he rode Hard Spun to a 4th place finish behind Teuflesberg while breaking from post #9 and rating in the Southwest.

The jock sent him away and rode him like he was in a friggen quarter horse race. I was convinced he was much better than those and that he'd improve on dirt .. so I was happy with the aggressive ride - but damn, that Lukas horse I thought was toast almost nailed him.

The Baffert/Garcia combo has been red hot at Santa Anita -- hitting at almost a 25% clip. He seems to fit his horses well and has won a few on non-Baffert horses.

I couldn't agree with you more. I was surprised by how good Dublin looked today.

Was just looking at the chart and got the feeling his effort was lost in translation. He chased and chased wide the entire race. After establishing his position, he may not have gained anything on the winner, but he didn't lose anything either. A sneaky OK effort.

Was a good day for DWL with Northern Giant's even, board-hitting effort at FG too...

I still like Dublin for the Arkansas Derby. I think the Coach knows what he's doing with that horse and with the Rebel next things could be a lot different.

HOT SPRINGS, Ark. - Dryfly is off the Arkansas Derby trail. Trainer Lynn Whiting said Tuesday the beginning of a stress fracture was diagnosed in the horse's left knee following his ninth-place finish in the Grade 3, $250,000 Southwest at Oaklawn last Saturday.

Dryfly was the race's second choice off his sharp score in last month's $100,000 Smarty Jones. He stalked at hot pace into the final turn of the Southwest, but retreated in the later stages. Whiting said the horse emerged from the race with pressure in the upper joint of his knee.

"It's foreign to him," Whiting said. "It's not something that's ever been there before. It kind of explains his race to you."
