Satish Sanan said yesterday he has expectations for a good showing from his firster in this race, though Rusty Arnold isn't exactly a guy you count on in a spot like this... Sure seem like Remittance will be tough of course, but I included the turf-bred Bergerac on my tabs.

Fun race...

No one has a thought to contribute on this? :zz:

Posted this in a different thread, but El Kingdom is obviously bred for the turf and has been working up a storm since coming down to Florida. It looks to me like he worked in company w/ Hey Byrn recently and came out slightly ahead. . . I think he has a little bit of speed for this distance which should put him in a good spot - he couldn't really get to the lead in his debut, but was trying to get up there against horses that are just naturally faster early.

There are a lot of well-bred firsters w/ inept first time trainers. . . It's interesting to note that Baker, #8 Bergerac's trainer, won with his only turf route debuter in the last five years. That one was bet down a lot, though. He certainly has a nice pedigree for turf. . . and would be one I'd use as a back-up.

The 11 should move up on turf in his second start.
