Betting the Belmont

Is there any value in the race? I am thinking because of Brown's 5/8 inch quarter crack the Brown/CD exacta will skyrocket from 3.60 to 4.20 and the CD/BB exacta will plummet from 9.00 to 7.80. I think the only way to get a double digit payout is with tris or supers.... and not going too deep with the other ten nags.

How are y'all leaning regarding betting this race? Tris? Supers? Passing on the race?

I'll let you know in a week and a half. . .

the_fat_man 05-26-2008 12:16 PM

yeah

if I'm at a party will all FAT CHICKS (or ugly chicks), does it mean that I need to bang one (or a few of) them?

why am I betting a no value race? and worrying about it 2 weeks prior?

ALL IN!!!!

I haven't figured out how I am going to bet the Belmont Stakes for the same reason that I haven't already made up my mind on how I'm going to play the Travers.

Sorry that I seem frivolous to you condescending degenerates. My interest is not in everyday racing but the major races and personalities involved in the sport. I am glad you elitist aholes got a chuckle out of my post..

I honestly believe that the quarter crack on Big Brown is an untrue story spewed out by the connections.

Don't you think the next week or so will sort of determine if he'll be in the race and at what capacity? It's too early.

you are far to nice..elitist *******..lol

Leaning towards watching it.

his quarter crack is now 3/4" long, for those keeping track....but his foot is supposed to be doing better.
his odds, should he start, will still be quite low. as for casino drive, i'll laugh every time i look back at this race should tomshito outfinish him-and a two time starter still has too many question marks, regardless of who his dam happens to be.

as for betting the race, wait til the day of to make your decisions, it really is too far out to say for sure.

You're right - I am a condescending elitist - but in this case it just doesn't make sense to think about the race when the status of the prohibitive favorite is pretty much unknown (by the public at least).

The difference between the initial 5/8 of an inch and 3/4 is certainly not a big enough change to doubt that the foot is getting better. A lot of times a wound will get or appear slightly larger during the healing process. The foot may not be getting better, but 1/8 of an inch is a negligible amount.

yeah, i'm not surprised it's just a bit larger, but they say the foot is cooler.
