Should be an interesting race. Credit should go out to the connections of Turf War, Kodiak Kowboy, and Majestic Warrior for having sound horses with the earnings to get in the Derby and resisting the temptation for personal glory at the expense of the horse. Too few are willing to do that these days.

Majestic Warrior has enough earnings to get into the Derby?

At the time they said they weren't going to the Derby he did. You may be right that he's been passed by enough horses now that he would no longer even have the option.

Of course now that I said this watch Turf War run well in the Derby Trial and his owners throw him back into the Derby mix.

No. He has been taken out of Derby consideration for well over a month now.

Yeah, I know which is why I'm crediting their owners. I was just saying now that I credited them for not being stupid watch them wheel the horse back next week in the Derby and make me look stupid.

blackthroatedwind 04-24-2008 09:36 AM

The beauty of horse racing is that it allows us to look stupid on a daily basis.

I'm going to try to not look stupid in the Keeneland 9th...if Rusty Arnold's horse does not run well then I will have failed.

In general, isn't betting on Rusty stupid by nature?

Payson Dave 04-24-2008 10:29 AM

yes now that you mention it....but I'm hoping this is the case of the proverbial blind squirrel finding an occasional acorn.

I don't need horse racing to do that...

Meant to get back to this.....good call.

Payson Dave 04-25-2008 10:33 AM

Blind squirrel theory worked but 3/2 was not much of an acorn....:)

VOL JACK 04-25-2008 11:24 AM

Everyone stay away from Fuijita, I'm thinking of betting him. :D
