Do you guys think he will make it into the Kentucky Derby gate?

He looks more like an Ohio Derby kind of horse.

i dont know ND i think he is gonna have to get some more earnings money. i posted on this earlier when my uncle put a big furture bet on him over t'giving. Now im just hoping that he can get into the gate. Its frustrating watching him run b/c of the financial implications and he just doesn't seem good enough to win KD 134.

Not to much else going to the Illinois Derby so the chances of getting the earnings to get in are decent.

Blackberry Road has $123k in Graded earning according to Churchill's kentuckyderby.com site.

I've been wrong a lot more than I've been right but I agree that Ohio Derby is a more realistic goal for Blackberry Road.

Yet if he's eligible, I'm sure the owners will enter him in Kentucky Derby 134. Take a look back of past winners of the Kentucky Derby at drf.com in their Kentucky Derby section and you'll see some sensible fields of 13 or 14 in 1994, 1997, and 1998.

I'm sure we will get a full field of 20 this year but most at least half the field will have no business running in the race.

I thought Robby gave him a terrible ride in his last race down in New Orleans. He was too close to the lead, moved too soon, used the horse twice before the real running started. With a nice clean trip, and a decent ride he can be a factor.

The Ohio Derby is certainly a more realistic goal but it doesn't mean they won't send him to the Derby off a top three finish at Hawthorne. He'll probably like ten furlongs and would have a shot at getting up for 4th or 5th which is still a nice paycheck.

the bet on blackberry is $50 at 150-1 i didn't mean for him to bet that much and now there is a chance he wont even be there. UGGHh i know he wouldnt win but i'd love to have the horse in the gate to at least have a chance.

wish I would have got those odds, I just had my dad put $10 on him at 75-1 the other day, he will probably be 50-1 if he gets into the gate so not the best of bets, but I wanted to get in on the action.

Blackberry Road has some impressive bloodlines but he couldn't win an allowance race. At least not for me.

I agree with you and he's just another slug in a Derby Trail littered with slow slugs who cannot get the distance or who can get the distance but are too slow.

Hopefully the Derby picture gets more clear in the next few weeks. There is not one horse who has turned in a performance this year that made me say that is a Derby winner except for Pyro's win in the Risen Star. But he's on top of everybody's Derby list and everybody is usually wrong.

Blackberry Road = Sam P.

No more 16x's in the Derby. Someone has to win and Pyro looks like the most logical choice. The thing is everybody is going to pick him to win the Kentucky Derby as long as a disaster does not occur in the Blue Grass. The thing is when everybody picks a horse to win a big event race it loses.
