I went to the Derby, Preakness, and Belmont last year and also attended the NASCAR races in Daytona (July), Richmond (September), and Delaware (September).

You'd be surprised.

Now in these NASCAR races, do you bet based upon the speed figure? Or pace? Or which team figures to rig the race?

That's extreme, but I lost all interest in NASCAR once I realized it was a car, and not a horse. But also that all these drivers, who look as though they represent themselves and their team, are owned by larger groups of owners who have multiple interests in the race. To me, that's just weird.

What, like they don't have coupled entries in tb racing?

Don't waste your time, Slot. I've been trying for years and I haven't gotten anywhere. :D

UPS sponsors a Ky Derby car every year....was a Toyota last year as well.

Watching Nascar is some sort of cruel and unusual punishment. How anybody can enjoy it is mindboggling

Kinda like watching big toothless men ice skate... I think they call it Hockey.;)

actually, hockey is a lot of fun to watch, very exciting and fast paced. not at all like watching cars go around. and around. and around. two hours later, they're still going around. and around and zzzzzzzzz......

Don't forget there's "Sports Entertainment" or what use to be wrasslin'..... my second favorite behind horseracing

I guess I'm outta touch. No one that I know thinks that Toyota is good for NASCAR they are still arguing over Ford vs Chevy. Maybe it is like The Legend of Ricky Bobby.. they only eat food that is advertised on cars. So since the KY Derby is on the hood of a car they will all tune into watch the race.

I've always said that it would be cool to bet exactas, triples, etc. in Nascar races.

they will sell anything and say nascar so people go out and but that stuff.
they believe it helps there driver and sport. just makes them more money.
cause it is just a few teams that win most of the races.

It is apparently popular in Pennsylvania also.
Some relatives brought down NASCAR trading
cards? yes indeed.

My family was bewildered. We have no darn cards.
They asked who are
favorite drivers were. Damn.

A bit awkward, I tried to think of some, but then
I heard that if one gives a driver that the family does
not like, its a Hatfield and McCoy thing. So they said
they hated Jeff Gordon and we all agreed.

Then we had to watch it. I remembered I had friends
to meet... be back in 500 laps.

Best part was the the Air Force Thunderbirds flying in formation at the end of the S.S. Banner.....I don't, for the life of me, understand this national obsession.

Its the BEER. I love racing as long as I'm driving. Dont care to sit and watch much of it.
